Aged 28 King's Commendation for Brave Conduct. Son of Patrick and Susan Healy Boyle, 16 Darndaff Road. Spent 40 hours in a lifeboat with 16 companions and returned with them to the burning ship. He gallantly accompanied the Chief Engineer and 3rd Engineer where they succeeded in restarting the pumps. He died as a consequence of exposure and exhaustion
