Aged 42 Son of John and Cecilia Brown; husband of Elizabeth Brown, of Alness, Ross and Cromarty. Died of a broken neck in Algiers. Suspected murder.
BROWN, Victor John - Sgt - 345496 - died in hospital of a broken neck after being found in a wood near Algefwan on the southern outskirts of Algiers. It was believed the injury had been caused after being struck by a blackjack or similar object. He was fully clothed, although his boots were missing.
