Husband of Eva Maguire. Son of the late Hugh Maguire and Mrs Greenlees 3a Mearns Street, Greenock. His brother was communist organsier in Renfrewshire. Educated at Mearns and Finnart Schools. Had fought in the Spanish Civil War where he had been interned.
